There are some wedding days that feel like they pass in the blink of an eye—but somehow leave you with a gallery full of moments that feel timeless.

Gen and Max’s St. Louis wedding was one of those days.

From the excitement of getting ready to the quiet in-between moments, the happy tears, the laughter, and the celebration that followed, their wedding day was filled with the kind of moments I love most as a wedding photographer: the real ones.

As a wedding photographer, I’m always looking for more than just the “perfect” photo. I want to document how the day actually felt—the nervous excitement before the ceremony, the way you look at each other when no one else is paying attention, the hugs from family, the uncontrollable laughter with your bridal party, and all of those little moments you may not even realize are happening until you see them in your gallery.

And Gen + Max’s day gave me so many of those moments to photograph.

A Beautiful St. Louis Wedding Day

St. Louis is such a beautiful city for weddings because there are so many different settings and backdrops for couples to create a wedding day that feels completely like them.

From historic architecture and elegant wedding venues to beautiful outdoor spaces and downtown St. Louis scenery, the city offers so many opportunities for gorgeous wedding portraits. It’s one of the reasons St. Louis wedding photography can be so much fun creatively—the city itself becomes part of the story.

For Gen and Max, the focus of the day was never just about having beautiful photographs.

It was about celebrating their marriage with the people they love most.

And that is exactly what I want my couples to remember when they look back through their wedding gallery years from now.

The Moments In Between

Some of my favorite wedding photographs aren't the ones where everyone is looking directly at the camera.

They're the moments in between.

The quick glance across the room.

A bride laughing with her friends.

A groom taking a deep breath before the ceremony.

Parents seeing their child dressed as a bride or groom for the first time.

A grandmother giving a hug.

Friends dancing like nobody is watching.

The two of you walking together after the ceremony with the biggest smiles on your faces.

Those moments are what make your wedding uniquely yours.

When I photograph a wedding, I want to leave room for those moments to happen naturally. Of course, we’ll create beautiful portraits together, but I never want your wedding day to feel like one giant photoshoot.

You should be able to actually experience it.

Romantic, True-to-Color Wedding Photography

My photography style is romantic, emotional, and true to color.

I love photographs that feel timeless rather than overly trendy. I want your images to look beautiful today, but I also want you to love them 20 years from now.

That means capturing natural emotion, beautiful light, genuine connection, and all of the little details that make your wedding day yours.

For me, wedding photography is about creating a complete story.

Not just the dress.

Not just the portraits.

Not just the ceremony.

The entire day.

Why I Love Traveling for Weddings

Although I’m based in Colorado, one of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is getting to travel for my couples.

There is something so special about photographing a wedding somewhere outside of my everyday surroundings. Every city has its own personality, architecture, light, and energy—and St. Louis is no exception.

St. Louis has so many beautiful locations for wedding portraits, from classic architecture to urban backdrops and romantic outdoor spaces. The variety gives couples plenty of opportunities to create wedding photographs that feel personal and editorial while still feeling authentic to their day.

And getting to document Gen and Max’s love story in St. Louis was such a special experience. Years from now, I hope Gen and Max can look through these photographs and remember more than what their wedding looked like.

I hope they remember how they felt. I hope they remember the excitement. The people who surrounded them. The laughter.

The happy tears. The little moments they didn't know I was photographing. And most importantly, I hope they remember exactly what it felt like to be surrounded by so much love. That is what wedding photography means to me. It isn't about creating a perfect wedding day.  It's about preserving a real one.

SO, with that said...

If you're searching for a St. Louis wedding photographer who will capture your wedding day in a romantic, true-to-color, and authentic way, I would love to hear from you.
